Moreton Corbet Castle

Moreton Corbet Castle

Moreton Corbet Castle is a Grade I listed building under the care of English Heritage. The ruins are from two different eras: a medieval stronghold and an Elizabethan era manor house. The buildings have been out of use since the 18th century, but are open to the public.

The castle is haunted by the ghost of Paul Holmyard, who is described as being of "bedraggled" appearance. Holmyard was a 17th century Puritan who cursed that the house would never be finished.
